“A concert devoted to the contemporary avant-garde classic Mauricio Kagel took place at the Scholars’ Building. The performers were the artistic director and conductor of the concert series ”New Music in Kyiv” Volodymyr Runchak and soloists of the “New Music in Ukraine” chamber ensemble. As expected, the hall was completely filled. At the end of the first part, Runchak’s work “Greetings M.K.” for piano written for Kagel (2001) was presented. In its ironic paradoxical quality and interesting planning of form and humor, this work fit in very well into the context of the German master’s music performed that evening, and created great excitement.”
