“Volodymyr Runchak is perhaps the most performed modern composer in Ukraine. Certainly his popularity goes well beyond the scope of Kyiv and Ukraine. Over time he has made himself known in Europe, giving a series of composer’s concerts in London, Augsburg, Munich, and Paris; he is known to the public in Lublin, St. Petersburg and Moscow. With regard to this composer’s innovations, one might argue that specifically the phenomenon of "instrumental theater» was already attempted by Western (among other) avant-garde composers. Yes, but Runchak always has enough sense, imagination, ingenuity and talent to find an unexpected freedom amid whatever limitations. And to speak his own language."
